The North Caroliniana Society established the North Caroliniana Book Award in 2003 to recognize annually “the book that captures the essence of North Carolina by contributing powerfully to an understanding of the state.”

H.G. Jones NC History Awards

The Society furnishes two cash prizes for winning student projects in the statewide National History Day Competition. The prizes encourage the learning of history through research leading to papers, performances, or audiovisual productions.

Recognizes a graduating senior in The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who is judged to have contributed most to an understanding of the history and traditions of the first state university.
